COVID-19

Q&A

for face to face treatment sessions during the COVID19 Pandemic

Can I come and have Physiotherapy at your clinic? Yes, yo u can book a face to face initial assessment, however, it is important that you have completed all the forms we have asked you to prior to your first appointment or we may need to phone you whilst you are in the car sat in the car park.  We can then bring you into clinic if appropriate for the physical examination and any treatment that can be done.

What happens when I arrive at the Clinic? Should I wear a mask? When you arrive at the  property we will ask you to wait in your car or off the property until we have ensured the room has been cleaned and aired properly, your therapist will meet you at your car.  You may wear a mask if you feel more comfortable but this is no longer necessary.

What will you be wearing? We no longer have to wear mask but our therapists will wear a mask if you request.

Am I likely to come in to contact with lots of people at the clinic? No. We do have two treatment rooms and ask that everyone waits in the car or outside as the therapists will only come and get you when it is safe to do so, this will avoid people crossing paths when entering and leaving the clinic.  There will also be around 5 minutes between appointments for the therapist to clean all the equipment and treatment room so even when you leave there should not be anyone hanging around.

Can I bring a family member along to wait in the waiting room? You may bring a friend but our waiting room is not in use anymore, they can either wait in the car or come into the session if you are comfortable with that.

What should I wear to my appointment? As before, we recommend you wear loose fitting clothing if you are not comfortable undressing, but please arrive at the clinic wearing minimal clothes to remove as we do not have any changing facilities available. Please also remove and leave any jewellery, watches, mobile phones, keys in a zipped pocket, at home or in the car..

I’ve left my wallet in the car as you asked, how do I pay for my appointment?  Payment can be done by bank transfer, contactless payment via debit/credit card.  Cash can be accepted if it is in an envelope with your name and the appointment date written on it.

What if I’m unwell? If you are unwell we would expect you to NOT attend the clinic – even if you have non COVID-19 related symptoms. If you are unwell with COVID-19 symptoms then you should be isolating at home and not attending the clinic.

Procedures

for face to face treatment sessions during the COVID19 Pandemic

All clients will have provided details of their issues prior to the face to face (f2f) contact. If a f2f appointment is appropriate and is booked the client must agree to the procedures set out by the clinic for the complete duration of the access to the property. The procedures laid out are for the safety of therapists, clients and people that those involved will come in to contact with after the appointment as well as the residents in the main property.

Before booking of f2f appointment

For every new case which has not been assessed at our clinic before, it is recommended to complete our pre assessment information form. The client must understand the risks of attending for a f2f session which include the following factors: Transmission pathways of COVID-19, surface transfer, airborne fluids and air transfer, severity of symptoms, risks of f2f sessions and benefits of f2f sessions (these risks are identified in our risk assessment found here ).

F2f session procedure

To prevent cross infection by touching contaminated items clients are asked to leave all belongings at home or in their vehicle before entering the property.

The therapist will meet the client either in the vehicle on the drive or at the entrance OUTSIDE the clinic. The client will be asked to sanitise their hands at the entrance.
