Arthrosamid®
Sruggling with painful, achy knees?
We can help, with Arthrosamid
How does Arthrosamid®
work?
Arthrosamid® is an injectable gel that is non-biodegradable, this means it is a permanent injectable implant.
Thetissue lining the knee joint (joint capsule) causes pain and a build up of fluid in the knee when it is inflammed due to the Osteoarthritis within your knee.
When Arthrosamid® is absorbed within the joint capsule, it mechanically softens and increases the elasticity of this tissue – thereby improving knee functionality and reduces pain.
What can I expect if I decide to have treatment with Arthrosamid®?
If you decide to have treatment with
Arthrosamid®, it will be injected directly into the joint affected by osteoarthritis.
Arthrosamid® requires just one injection.
You will not notice any benefits immediately after the first injection, it can take up to 2 months before you notice changes in your symptoms as the gel bonds with the tissue.
The improvement in your symptoms is likely to persist for 3-5 years, depending on the progression of the degenerative change in the joint being treated.
When the effects of your Arthrosamid® injections begin to wear off, you can safely choose to have another injection if your clinician agrees it is appropriate.
It is important to bear in mind that there is no cure for osteoarthritis but successful treatment with Arthrosamid® may reduce or relieve your knee pain.
You should also bear in mind that your knee osteoarthritis may not improve and, in some cases, may get worse.
